Job Description Summary:

The Clinical Manager is responsible for developing and managing the execution of the clinical strategy for ANZ, supporting customer adoption of best clinical practices. This role also manages, coordinates, and develops the Clinical Nurse Educator team. The Clinical Manager promotes and facilitates clinical solutions, education, and technical support in the ANZ market, working directly with Sales and Marketing to provide service to both internal and external customers. The role aims to grow and support the business by promoting best clinical practices and aligning with associated therapies and knowledge.

This position can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the clinical strategy to leverage and align current BD clinical programs, contributing to business objectives and accelerating growth.
  • Manage customer clinical practice assessments/audits and ongoing monitoring of customer satisfaction and adherence to clinical best practices.
  • Develop project timelines, facilitate and schedule internal and external resources for pre-implementation assessment and post-implementation compliance monitoring.
  • Manage multiple projects throughout their lifecycle, including pre-sale activities, coordination of multidisciplinary teams, and post-implementation customer satisfaction follow-up.
  • Increase customer awareness and adherence to clinical best practices through monitoring, discovery, direct interactions, and continuing education.
  • Work directly with customers to understand issues and communicate product enhancement and new product ideas to marketing.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles to current clinical programs, including internal training programs for new starters.
  • Provide training and development to Clinical Nurse Educators and ensure they are updated with changes to policies or new clinical practices.
  • Provide clinical support for planning trade conferences and exhibitions throughout ANZ.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, KOLs, relevant associations, and government representatives.
  • Maintain a strong clinical knowledge relating to Medication Delivery, Infection Control, Healthcare Worker, and Patient Safety issues.
  • Participate in the organisation and management of clinical trials and user studies in association with Global marketing.
  • Attend relevant industry trade shows, conferences, and meetings as required.

Conversion Management:

  • Act as the first point of contact for the MDS organisation regarding the planning and execution of all educational activities, including clinical product conversions.
  • Develop and maintain all conversion management tools and roll them out to the broader organisation.
  • Coordinate timing of conversions with other educational commitments.
  • Negotiate with internal and external customers to develop an effective conversion schedule.
  • Liaise with external agencies to secure additional training resources as required.
  • Ensure all external resources are trained and competent to conduct BD product training.
  • Support all product conversions as required.
  • Conduct post-conversion assessments with customers and provide feedback to the MDS organisation.
  • Work with the sales organisation to support their efforts in measuring post-conversion compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records on SFDC of all accounts, including activities, in-servicing records, and contact details.

Other Working Conditions:

  • Some weekend and out-of-normal business hours work may be required to meet customer needs and timelines.
  • Domestic (and occasional international) travel will be required.
  • Flexibility in working hours is advantageous.
  • A driver's license is essential.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (with current registration) with at least 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Commercial experience is advantageous.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in managing a team is desirable.
  • Experience in the provision of adult education and training is required.
  • Business acumen and commercial awareness are highly desirable.
  • Tenacious and highly self-motivated.
  • High level of technical competence and clinical experience in Medication Delivery, Infusion Therapy, and Infection Control practices.
  • Ability to deal with multiple priorities and short timelines.
  • Ability to work with the Sales team to set and manage appropriate customer expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to match and deliver the appropriate level of education/support with the value of a business opportunity.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Active involvement in relevant nursing societies is desirable.
  • Problem-solving ability and demonstrated examples of innovative solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and maximize the use of clinical data.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including whiteboarding.
  • Demonstrated competence in computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
