About the role:
The BD Medication Management Solutions business combines proven technology with impactful intelligence to prevent medication errors, improve clinician efficiency, increase predictability of medication and supply availability, and improve organizational financial performance. At almost every point in the medication use or supply chain management process, safety, efficiency, and costs can be favourably impacted with BD Medication Management and Pharmacy Automation Solutions.
The Clinical Consultant- Clinical Infusion Data Consultant (CIDC) will be a member of the BD Medication Management Solutions clinical and technical consultant team and will have responsibility for a subset of our solutions. They will be responsible for assisting sales in developing and managing sales opportunities with acute care customers and supporting their adoption of analytics solutions. The Clinical Consultant will help to develop compelling customer value propositions through formal presentations, consulting engagements, clinical and operational assessments and customer proposals. The Clinical Consultant will work directly with customers through both virtual and onsite engagements to understand their data as well as current clinical and operational practices and make recommendations to improve safety and efficiency using BD Medication Management Solutions technologies and solutions. The Clinical Consultant will help to gather information related to customer requirements to shape quotations and proposals and ensure a smooth transition from sales engagements to implementation projects driven by the Solution Deployment teams. The Clinical Consultant-CIDC will also assist in ongoing customer development and optimization after the implementation of BD technologies to ensure customers maximize the value of BD technologies and create new sales opportunities.
Field based role for a candidate currently residing in Alberta or British Columbia.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provides clinical consulting support primarily for sales, but also marketing and business development.
- Educates and manages the customer experience related to infusion data and analytics. This includes but not limited to:
- Administration of Infusion Data Workshops
- Maintaining relevant and current presentations for the workshop using the customer evaluations
- Participating/assisting in the MMS Data Workshops
- Web-ex type education for the infusion analytics tools
- Collaborates with sales, implementation, and other partners to develop customer specific strategic BD solution roadmaps and provides input to program/project plans for the implementation of recommended sales solutions.
- Works with internal and external teams to establish/schedule support for education and related infusion data activities.
- Facilitates the customer experience to manage, understand, and use clinical data to promote the business growth of clinical analytics and the business unit.
- Ability to conduct detailed workflow and pharmacy operation assessment and recommendations to drive optimization of operations.
- Collaborates and builds collaborative partnerships with Sales Account Executive, Product Managers, Product Research and Development teams, Interface Teams, Implementation & Support teams, Customer Advocacy, and Training.
- Works with sales to provide support related to influencing and consulting with clinical stakeholders in buying decisions.
- Responsible for preparing and executing on customer engagements such as customer presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, request for proposal responses etc.
- Stays active and engaged with important healthcare related organizations to stay abreast of healthcare trends and changes in Pharmacy practice that impact our business or customers. Acts as an inspiring leader to readily share healthcare knowledge with internal and external customers.
- Assists marketing product managers with marketplace surveillance, customer needs, and future product ideas by providing voice of customer.
- Utilizes up to date knowledge of the healthcare industry to provide clinical input for new product development and software enhancements.
- Provides clinical consulting support for the BD Medication Management Solutions commercial organization and customers.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of medication management processes, Nursing and Pharmacy practice/workflows, the healthcare industry, and detailed knowledge of BD's Medication Management Solutions Infusion analytics platforms
- Performs workflow redesign with practice change recommendations with accompanying BD solutions to facilitate achievement of best practices and customer strategic goals and vision.
- Experienced communicator and collaborator with partners (internal and external) to drive alignment on recommendations and proposed solutions. Dynamic speaking skills and excellent business writing skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to influence key senior decision makers.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you require:
- Excels in supporting healthcare sales
- Demonstrated and extensive knowledge of hospital-based medication management processes, Nursing and Pharmacy practice/workflows, the healthcare industry, and detailed knowledge of BD's medication management infusion solutions
- Expertly performs sophisticated customer current state assessment and builds compelling future state business case to meet customer's strategic objectives/vision.
- Is an experienced communicator and collaborator with partners (internal and external) to drive alignment on recommendations and proposed solutions. Dynamic speaking skills and excellent business writing skills required.
- Demonstrated leadership by being customer focused, displaying critical thinking, having a global and company attitude, focusing on results, skill growth, and continuous improvement.
- Strategically works with sales and customer service organization to prioritize activities.
- Balances multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritizes tasks based on organizational need and judgment, and handles working independently in remote office situations efficiently.
- Has a bias toward action, is self-motivated, and a self-starter.
- Mentors internal staff regarding best demonstrated practices.
Education and experience required:
- Registered Nurse with Bachelor's degree. Graduation from a Canadian approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of 6 - 8 years of related experience.
- Must have strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization within and outside of the company.
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated project and team management experience in field setting.
- Up to 50-75% travel required, including nights and some weekends
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a past clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years; as well as meet BD's auto safety standards.
Education, skills and experience preferred:
- An advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience in data analytics and/or Clinical Practice Leadership a plus.
