Job Description:

The Regulatory Reporting and Operations Governance Lead role is a key leadership position, responsible for managing team(s) assigned to execute regulatory reporting and operations governance functions such as business impact review, risk mitigation and control issue remediation.

Bank of America Malaysia Berhad (BAMB) is a licensed offshore bank which is regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). BAMB offers services to clients which include Malaysian financial institutions, multinational corporations (MNCs), local institutional corporates and Bank of America affiliate entities. Products offered are typically the MYR and foreign currency deposits, credit facilities, cash management services and trade finance products.

Global Banking Operations deliver seamless solutions to BAMB clients, with close collaboration and support by internal business partners. The role provides agile working experience, as well as a wide range of training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of regulatory reporting and operations control professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other operations teams, compliance, technology, sales, product, finance, risk and technology, to ensure deliverables are executed in a cohesive and coordinated manner.
  • Act as a primary contact point for regulatory authorities, auditors and internal stakeholders on matters related to regulatory reporting and governance.
  • Prepare and present reports, recommendations and investigative findings to senior management, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices and regulatory developments to advise the organization on strategic and operational impacts.
  • Lead projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, accuracy and compliance in regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures which support robust regulatory compliance.

Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of direct working experience in managing team(s) executing banking operations controls and regulatory reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of banking regulations and key statistical regulatory reporting such as Cash BOP and CCRIS.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, risk management and internal controls.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in statistical reporting platforms such as STATsmart and ESS DSS, with strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong thought leadership, independent and critical thinker with highly developed problem-solving skills.
