Business Unit and Department Structure

Bank of America Global Banking Technology Asia Pacific handles technology application development and support for corporate & investment banking business in APAC region. Division designs, architects, and delivers technology solutions on regional and global platform to drive business growth for our Commercial, Corporate & Investment Banking and Markets clients in APAC region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of technology projects, ensuring they meet business requirements, are completed on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Division will be aligned and work closely with Technology Delivery Teams, GPS business, Operations and Risk Partners for building business enablement and regulatory requirements/feature sets on regional platforms.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders. Ensure clear and consistent communication regarding project status, risks, and issues.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of project managers, developers, and other technical staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with project delivery. Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all projects meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Implement best practices for software development and project management.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within financial constraints. Track expenses and report on budget performance.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and partners as necessary. Manage contracts and ensure vendor deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote continuous improvement in project delivery processes. Implement lessons learned and best practices from previous projects.
  • Work with the Global Agile and DevOps teams to ensure that successful delivery of APAC Regional Solutions.
  • Liaise between enterprise and program technical leaders, implement, and propagate innovation, technical solution assets and best practices.
  • Create and use intellectual capital to solve diverse technical and client issues in an innovative way.
  • Articulate the business and technical value of solutions and products to senior managers and technical decision makers.
  • Leads and coordinates routines to support delivery (for example, kick-offs, status reviews, stakeholder meetings, change controls, and tollgates, etc.)
  • Manages coordination of delivery and dependencies across multiple teams
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration across organizations to support the deliverable completion and timelines.
  • Provides status updates for the deliverables to stakeholders and leadership pertaining to delivery, risks, issues, and schedule.
  • Works with sponsors and stakeholders to ensure that execution is aligned with deliverable requirements.
  • Supports resource planning for delivery and execution.
  • Ensures adherence with Enterprise Change Management standards.

Skills / Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Banking Technology sector.
  • Experience of running multi-million dollars initiatives.
  • Experience of working on Regulatory initiatives.
  • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall). Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Ability to analyze project data and make informed decisions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Good understanding of Technical Architecture.
  • Good knowledge and working experience with Agile software development methodology.
  • Prior experience in online treasury payments and liquidity development.
  • Ability and experience to lead projects with direct reports on special initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Entail regular interaction with global initiative technology managers and team leads.
  • Demonstrated abilities in prioritization and execution of multiple tasks are required to be successful in this position.
  • Energetic, Self-motivated and can collaborate across a broad team and support groups across geography.
  • Team Player and self-starter. Lead team of developers and own delivery
  • Ability to proactively juggle responsibilities with a positive and can-do attitude
  • Preferred to have good understanding about the application Infrastructure setup, Containerization, and application management skills.
