Job Description:
The candidate will join GM Operational Risk & Controls within COO to lead/manage core horizontal risk and control program(s). Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment with the following responsibilities for 1 or more horizontal risk and control programs:
Operational Risk and Programmatic Responsibilities:
- Provide support and oversight of key FLU operational risk programs e.g. Single Process Inventory
- Drive resolution of issues and initiatives to completion
- Perform inventory harmonization and look across exercises
- Develop and implement reporting routines, including exception based reporting
- Serve as point of contact for exams, targeted risk assessments and issues
- Design and monitor metrics
- Adept at detecting and remediating process weaknesses and deficiencies
- Communicate relevant updates to LOB representatives, COOs, BCOs, and key stakeholders regarding issues and key deliverables

Process Engineering / Process Mining Responsibilities:
- Design, build and improve end to end processes, workflows and controls
- Identify and execute ongoing process improvements, including technology based solutions and opportunities to Identify and properly escalate potential issues
- Review processes to identify process re-engineering and process mining opportunities
- Gather data and analyze complex business processes
- Assess and track the impact of new / existing processes and technologies on operational performance
- Perform ad hoc data analysis using data tools
- Advise management regarding process improvements and analytic results
This position requires the ability to multi-task, assist others with complex items and those that require extensive research, while independently prioritizing his/her workload. Must build strong relationships with Business Partners across LOBs and have an understanding of the business unit's operations processes and implications on other groups within the operations function and other divisions within the company. The role will also be expected to think analytically and provide effective solutions to tactical challenges.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in controls or risk management (business, operations, finance, compliance, operational risk, audit) and process management
- Proven ability to lead and influence with key control partners including Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Audit
- Robust understanding of Operational Risk aspects and Business Controls to help guide Process Owners on risks, controls, and metrics
- Acute knowledge of process engineering and process design / re-design and / or process mining
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills - ability to drive root cause analysis, focus on details, identify issues, prioritize quickly and recommend solutions
- Highly organized, able to effectively plan/manage deliverables and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work independently - set and manage plans, achieve results
- Ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise across a broad spectrum of issues
- Ability to influence desired outcome without direct management responsibilities
- Drives Operational Excellence
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of Cognos, Tableau, Alteryx,
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Process analysis and documentation
- Requirements development
- Demonstrated professional writing proficiency and strong verbal communication and presentation skills
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Global Markets / Sales & Trading business processes and products
- Familiarity of operational risk program requirements within a financial institution
- Ability to build partnerships; resolve conflict with minimal noise with strong awareness of when to escalate to management

Pay and benefits information
Pay range
$175,000.00 - $250,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
Discretionary incentive eligible
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
