Responsibilities
This Product Manger role is within the Digital Platform and Channels team, you will be responsible for leading our EMEA Strategy on Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for GPS.
You will work closely with our Global CashPro™ team, leveraging EMEA voice of the client to identify future API needs, consider API distribution and engagement with third-party alliances and to stay fully up-to-speed on open-banking and industry standards changes impacting our API strategy and our GPS business more broadly.
Responsibilities include:
- Comprehensive understanding of the API product capability and underlying technology/platforms including the CashPro® user interface, middleware applications and payment processing engines.
- Detailed knowledge of competitive landscape and API/open-banking market trends within the channels and payment space.
- Take initiative as a Product Manager to develop new capabilities and improve existing offerings based on voice of the client, industry trends and regulatory change.
- Partner with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels within the region and across the globe (Global Product Teams, Sales, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Marketing, and external vendors) to bring to life their vision for the product in conjunction with the firm-wide strategies. Especially close engagement with technology and operations given the technical nature of the product set.
- Ensure an appropriate partner strategy for EMEA client integration into relevant third-party platforms for our clients.
- Provide support in business development efforts by assisting with Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, sales presentations and conduct client engagements in order to help effectively on-board and optimize CashPro® API experience.
- Industry engagement to remain fully up-to speed on open-baking and industry standards changes impacting Bank of Americas (BofA's) API strategy for GPS.
- Participate in product planning sessions and enhancement roadmap discussions by providing EMEA voice of the client feedback, bringing unique experiences and knowledge to the discussion.
- Close collaboration with other product managers within the region and across the globe in subject matter areas, such as Payments and Receivables, Transactional Foreign Exchange, and Liquidity.
- Ability to build business cases among competing priorities, to influence the product strategy both at the regional and global level, to drive global consistency, enhance capability, improve user experience, and facilitate operational efficiencies.
What we are looking for
- Experience in a comparable business, ideally within a financial institution or other payments business, ideally in a technology-based product management capacity focused on APIs.
- Advanced knowledge of bank treasury services products, operating and connectivity platforms, products and capabilities, and a strong understanding of client processes and back-office systems.
- Experience/appreciation for the complexities from global operations and legacy systems, with cross border and multi-jurisdictional exposure.
- Experience in technology middleware and system design, as well as understanding the role technology plays within the payments landscape in terms of both innovations and regulation.
- Experience in both technical and non-technical project management, meeting deadlines and pushing product development to market in a timely fashion.
- A Risk Manager with attention to detail, successfully able to identify risks and issues as well as analyse, evaluate and take action to address or remediate systematically.
- Comfortable setting priorities and working on longer-term initiatives, regular routines and dealing with ad hoc unforeseen demands both internally and externally.
- Ability to voice up for the region; proficient in making business cases among competing priorities across different product teams, to influence team members within region and globally in an effective way with an evidence-based approach.
- Excellent communicator with both written and verbal communication, able to tailor approach to audiences; with the ability to translate context between technical and non-technical teams and be able to clearly communicate and influence clients and business partners while maintaining strong relationships.
