Position Overview
Reporting to the Head of Corporate and Product Finance, the Senior Director Corporate FP&A will drive world-class planning, forecasting, and insights for the entire Autodesk business. The Corporate FP&A leader works closely with the CFO and other senior executives in both Finance and the Business to orchestrate the planning and resource allocation aligned with the company's priorities.
The right candidate will demonstrate deep financial insights and the ability to look around the corner, provide solutions to issues, evolve our process and automation excellence, establish new methodologies for planning and forecasting, run processes that align across the company, and establish a systematic view of metrics relevant to the business. The Senior Director of Corporate FP&A also collaborates deeply with other finance leaders in FP&A, accounting, tax, treasury, and investor relations. This leader attracts, develops and retains world-class corporate finance talent.

Responsibilities
- Annual planning: Manage the company's annual financial planning processes across functions and with interlock among business teams. Utilize financial planning methods including ZBB, bow-wave, unit economics and ROI-based investment analysis. Drive both top-down target setting and bottom-up financial planning including monthly and quarterly detail. Identify key planning issues and develop solutions to resolve them. Test robustness of the plan through scenario analyses. Maintain and summarize external views of market, competitors, industry trends, and financial benchmarks to inform planning cycle.
- Forecasting: Quarterly and monthly forecasts for P&L, revenue, cash flow and key financial metrics. Identify and report on select weekly metrics to highlight potential issues early. Triangulate submissions by teams through reasonable checks or alternative approaches, especially on revenue and cash flow modeling. Represent forecast to CFO and key executives including key drivers. Proactively highlight issues and solutions. Look around the corner based on trends and the forecast data. Conduct scenario analysis to assess opportunities and risks.
- Quarter-end: Use strong and smart processes to close the quarter in best-in-class speed and in alignment with rules and policies.
- Earnings and analyst day preparation: Develop guidance model. Proactively create data packages with insights for earnings to enable creation of script messages, investor Q&A and earnings slides. Maintain and refresh single repository of all earnings-related schedules. Proactively create key schedules for analyst day. Support of analyst day as single source of truth for all externally shared data.
- Long-range planning: Create a multi-year view of the company's P&L, cash flow and key metrics. Use an integrated model that reflects the relationship between revenue and expense. Drive a process that ensures ownership and alignment of the long-range plan by the executive leadership team. Conduct scenario analyses to assess opportunities and risks.
- Automation and process excellence: Build out a system enabling business planning and forecasting. Create robust reporting platform enabling self-service to support finance and business partners with key information related to plans, budgets, spend, headcount, and more. Continuously improve processes for efficiency, insight and foresight.
- Capital allocation: Provide insights and recommendations on allocating capital to its most productive use.
- Metrics: Develop and refresh metrics book related to revenue, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow related that are key to investors, management and board. Identify insights and foresights. Develop solutions to issues. Act as single point of trusted financial data to CFO, board, and investor relations.
- Unit-level financial insights: Create methodology and implement unit-level financials by product and channel to facilitate strategic decision making.
- Board and CEO-Staff communication: Prepare Board and CEO-Staff materials for CFO and Head of Corporate & Product Finance analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating key messages.
- Lead team: Attract, retain and develop a team of top performing finance professionals.
- Strategic projects: Participate in strategic data analysis, research and modeling for senior company leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in strategic finance roles, especially in financial planning & analysis, ideally at a large public software company
- Proven experience in corporate FP&A and product/go-to-market FP&A
- Strong accounting and financial planning process and systems leadership experience with a proven track record of excelling in high-performance, analytic and data-driven cultures
- Skilled at working across multiple levels, including high level strategy and insights thinking to disciplined processes leadership of complex planning cycles
- Solution-driven, innovative, and creative mindset
- Zero-defect and principles-first mindset
- Proven track record of financial systems, process & tools improvement/automation
- Strong people leader with proven experience managing global teams and a demonstrated track record of building & elevating high performing teams
- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively & influence across all levels of leadership
- Ability to travel at least 20% of the time
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Accounting, Economics; MBA preferred
- Background in management consulting, investment banking, or equity research preferred
- CPA or CFA preferred

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $202,000 and $326,810. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
