Position Overview

Autodesk seeks a seasoned Senior Manager to lead a team of program, project, and product management professionals in the enterprise infrastructure and technologies organization. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to drive strategic transformation across the enterprise infrastructure and cloud services portfolio of products and services that enable the Autodesk workforce and customers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical program management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for bringing a customer-oriented perspective into all technical realms of execution and planning. They will develop and execute multi-year strategic plans that require cross-organizational collaboration and alignment, ensuring cohesive and sustained growth across all business units and functions. This role can be anywhere in the US with a preference for hybrid from Novi, Michigan or San Francisco, California.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project and product managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture


  • Provide direction and support to the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives


  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members


  • Guide and shape synthesis or evolution of all aspects of the strategic planning lifecycle and related standards, processes, and frameworks

Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with senior leadership to define, prioritize, and drive the organization's product portfolio and strategic initiatives


  • Act as a liaison between the other TPM teams within the enterprise infrastructure organization as well as across divisions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration


  • Influence and guide cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals and deliver high-quality results in a consistent manner

Program Management and Execution

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical programs, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget


  • Provide strategic direction in organizational planning processes, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and fostering alignment across various departments


  • Implement best practices and processes for program management, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence


  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure successful program outcomes

Advancing product-oriented approaches across enterprise cloud and infrastructure portfolio

  • Develop standards, frameworks, and best practices to ensure a product-oriented mindset is applied across the entire lifecycle of enterprise infrastructure and cloud technologies portfolio


  • Partners with service leaders and stakeholders to ensure all major strategic platforms and services have clear multi-year strategies, roadmaps, and full lifecycle plans in place and communicable


  • Aligns with and influences other departments within the company and across the enterprise IT landscape to ensure consistency in approach, ensuring efficiency


  • Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, driving the adoption of best practices and cutting-edge techniques

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus


  • 10+ years of experience in technical program management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role


  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex technical programs and leading cross-functional teams


  • Experience leveraging industry standard planning and program management methodologies, tools (ProductBoard, Airtable, and Jira are a plus), frameworks, and best practices to streamline ability to deliver key strategic outcomes


  • Strong background in software development, engineering, or a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams


  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to drive alignment and execution across multiple teams


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels


  • Extensive experience driving transformation and alignment across multiple cross-organization teams using industry standard product management and service delivery methodologies, frameworks, and related processes/tools

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $142,800 and $231,000. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
