Position Overview

The Marketing Strategy & Planning team is responsible for setting the overall marketing strategy that is in alignment with Autodesk's business goals and revenue targets. This team will own strategic programs to drive process improvement and efficiencies, lead the annual planning process, including the development of the integrated marketing plan, and will ensure that all marketing efforts across the company are cohesive, efficient, effective, abide by standards of excellence, and focused on driving growth. They also partner with different marketing teams to optimize marketing strategies across different channels, geos, and segments.

The Senior Director, Marketing Strategy & Planning leads Autodesk's Marketing Strategy organization and manages the strategic planning and transformation, PMO and enablement, chief of staff, and M&A integration teams. This role is crucial in setting the overall marketing strategy, leading Autodesk's annual marketing planning process, and ensuring that all marketing efforts are cohesive and standardized through coordination and partnership with Brand, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Digital, and Communications teams under the CMO. This role and the supporting team acts as the integrator for marketing strategy with the over-arching go-to-market strategy, ensuring alignment to Autodesk growth and transformation objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives and drive growth
  • Oversee the annual marketing planning process, including the development of the integrated marketing plan
  • Manage the marketing budget and ensure the effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI
  • Develop and implement marketing enablement programs, track the effectiveness of enablement initiatives through key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuously refine programs based on feedback and performance data
  • Drive strategic marketing initiatives that support business growth and enhance the effectiveness of the marketing department

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Expert ability to hire, lead, and inspire high-performing marketing teams with the ability to foster a positive and engaging culture
  • Advanced experience in leading strategic marketing programs and driving operational excellence
  • Advanced ability to oversee the integration and orchestration of marketing activities related to mergers and acquisition
  • Advanced ability to develop and implement enablement programs that equip the marketing team with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to drive revenue growth
  • Advanced ability to work with cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive consensus to achieve shared goals
  • Expert strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Expert written and verbal written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to executive audiences
  • Expert ability to manage large-scale marketing programs and initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in marketing strategy, planning, or related roles at a global, enterprise SaaS company
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Expertise in advanced marketing analytics tools and methodologies
  • Experience in implementing AI technologies to improve the productivity and efficiency of the marketing team
  • Knowledge of market research methodologies and ability to leverage market insights to inform strategy

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $196,200 and $317,460. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
