The Automotive and Conceptual Design team is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Manager to lead a passionate group of professional QA analysts. This position is an exciting opportunity to define and shape the technical quality assurance standards, strategies, and procedures for the Alias and VRED product line and the recently announced Autodesk AI-powered capabilities for automotive design studios.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a globally distributed Quality Assurance Team. Develop staff capabilities by recruiting resources, defining development areas, providing ongoing feedback, training, and development to foster professional and technical competencies.
  • Optimize team efficiency by aligning projects with appropriate resources. Foster capability-driven assignment and collaboration to leverage execution synergies across projects and products.
  • Direct staff in the implementation of test plans and participate in various elements of product and capability test activities. Track test strategy milestones, test coverage and defect trends to ensure projects are on schedule. Communicate quality metrics and trends, highlight issues having potential for production delays to facilitate informed and data-driven decisions on project schedules on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate and engage with product management, engineering and XD to ensure project schedules do not compromise quality assurance standards and customer expectations. Scope, estimate and schedule various tasks including test plan creation and execution, interoperability testing, hardware certification, creating and executing automated tests, install, licensing, and simulation testing.
  • Evaluate feasibility of outsourced versus in-house testing for various activities and based on the required level of technical versus domain expertise. Select vendors and manage vendor relationship, foster effective communication with quality assurance team.
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of developments in quality assurance programs, practices, technologies in the industry. Collaborate with fellow SQA managers to research and evaluate alternative methodologies, practices, and tools to improve quality assurance standards of company products and services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven track record (5+ years) of managing and directing professional staff responsible for delivering high-quality software
  • 10+ years of experience in testing applications on heterogeneous (desktop, client-server, web applications) platforms and operation systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance disciplines, designing tests based on user stories, and testing methodologies including the authoring of functional test plans, regression testing, and performance / load testing scripts
  • Exceptional team player with very good moderation, consulting and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience working on a scrum team developing desktop products and/or cloud services; understand software and/or services architecture, development, and testing; understand Agile and Scaled Agile

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hiring, building an inclusive team-based culture that strives towards best practices, measurable outcomes
  • Experience working with automation frameworks that scale, using tools like Cypress, Playwright, Behave, Robot Framework, or similar
  • Experience defining and building CI/CD processes and working with common CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity)
  • Experience in Linux systems administration, scripting, and troubleshooting is desirable.
  • Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other equivalent public clouds
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Alias, Autodesk VRED, or other computer aided industrial design or 3D visualization software is a plus
  • Familiarity with automotive design and visualization is a plus
