Job Description

ATS Scientific Products, an ATS Company, is expanding our team and have immediate opening for a Production Worker - Packaging Department! This is a first shift position Monday - Friday with hours from 6am - 2:30pm. The Production Worker's main responsibility is to packs materials and products manually and by machine, for warehouse storage and / or customer delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Cleans packaging containers, lines and pads boxes and assembles cartons.
  • Obtains and sorts product, places in cavities, assembles components according to Material lists.
  • Wraps protective material around product. Inserts or pours product into containers or fills containers from spout or chute.
  • Measures and adjusts quantities. Glues, closes, seals containers. Labels containers, cartons, products.
  • Sorts bundles or filled containers.
  • Packs special arrangements or selections of product.
  • Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process.
  • Records information such as quantity, time, date, and obtains approving initials.
  • May stack, separate, count, pack, wrap, and weigh products. Some products require final assembly prior to packing.
  • Most responsibilities are performed while sitting. Operation of ZED cavity packaging machine requires standing. Not all packagers will operate ZED or drill press. All packagers are expected to perform assemblies.
  • Operate Zed cavity package machine; Heat sealing machine; Computer and label printer, labeling gun, scale, drill press, vacuum fill, laminator, copier, calculator, cutters (compressed air & paper)

TALENTS and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Previous working experience in a production environment
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent

SUMMARY

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistent and predictable attendance
  • Understands and complies with all company rules and regulations
  • Reports unsafe conditions and practices to management; immediately reports injuries to management accordingly.
  • Warehouse cleanup and general tidiness of work area

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and REGISTRATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is normally performed in warehouse environment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and is frequently required to stand, bend, stoop reach and climb stepstools; use both hands; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
