Job Mission

Responsible for successfully defining and introducing products into China that drive revenue growth and market share in China as a member of the Cymer Product Marketing team. Works closely with Product Development Managers (PDM) and Global Account Managers to monitor market trends, identify opportunities for new products, and document the market requirements for their region. Develops detailed product strategy to drive competitive differentiation, revenue, and service contract retention. Supports customer-facing sales activities with collateral and product training to ensure successful product penetration and achievement of financial targets.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description
  • Works closely with Account and Business Managers for China to understand customer needs and with Product Development Managers to translate needs into detailed customer requirements for Cymer products
  • Travel - up to 25% to China
  • Develops product penetration strategy as part of the product introduction plans, including direct customer and chipmaker value propositions
  • Develops product forecasts and works with the sales organization to meet financial targets
  • Develops and maintains customer facing collateral for both new and existing products
  • Provides product positioning training and materials for, account managers, field marketing, and field service engineers
  • Maintains regular communications with direct customers and chipmakers to explain product roadmap, describe new product features & benefits, and coordinate customer technical interface meetings with chipmakers
  • Supports competitive analysis and provides account and field service teams with collateral to respond to competitive threats
  • Works closely with Product Development Group (PDG) to define a compelling product roadmap
  • Supports customer escalations by providing clear and compelling collateral to respond to customer specific issue
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Education
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Electrical, Applied, Physics, or relevant, related field of study.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with MBA or Marketing degree preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant, work related experience (including some prior experience in semiconductor capital equipment field).
  • Engineering background is required.
  • Experience in sales, account management, marketing, sales promotion, or strategic planning in the semiconductor capital equipment business or similarly complex business-to-business technology industry is a plus
  • Proficiency in Mandarin, including ability to present technical topics in Mandarin is strongly preferred
  • Experience in presenting technical topics to customers in US, Europe and/or Asia.
  • Experience in presenting to senior executives to lead and influence product strategies.
  • Strong technical and presentation skills to directly promote and influence technical and management (customer) audience and represent products within the customer's environment (photolithography)
  • Strong tactical and strategic thinking to develop long-term product plans as well as react to changing market dynamics (customer, competitor, industry and macroeconomics)
  • Ability to write detailed marketing requirement statements (MRS) that include technical justifications, business case and return-on-investment for the company and the customer
  • Ability to develop product value propositions through deep knowledge of impact to customers.
  • Ability to convert 'raw' technical data into compelling proofs and collateral for product promotion.
  • Detail-oriented in market data analysis, technical data review, and for high-quality collateral creation.
  • Excellent knowledge of collateral creation, particularly with PowerPoint skills, to convey concise and unambiguous messaging
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems.
  • Ability to define and track short and long-term goals and projects.

Other information
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel internationally (primary location China) dependent on business needs, up to 25% travel may be required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$156,000-260,000
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
