This professional will be part of the Corporate Accounting team responsible for the accounting for holding company entities and services provided to subsidiaries. Responsibilities:
Responsible for approving fixed asset invoices, maintaining the fixed asset system through additions, disposals, and impairments. Track project expenses and reconcile to capital expenditure forms. Analyze Work in Progress account to determine when projects are complete and ready for assets to be placed into service.
Understand and implement global leases in accordance to the new Lease Standard, ASC 842
Maintain a global lease database, record monthly lease journals, reconcile general ledger accounts, calculate and validate accruals, research exceptions and variances.
Maintain fixed asset software (FAS system), general ledger accounts, interfaces, and internally developed software projects, and related fixed asset tax records
Research accounting guidance as it applies to fixed asset and lease accounting.
Perform month-end, quarter-end, annual close and financial reporting
Prepare variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement with detailed explanations for the corporate segment
Prepare various accounting workpapers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries as assigned
Responsible for additional account reconciliations, accruals, analyses and GL entries
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and prepare internal & external audit requests
Performs ad hoc financial analysis
Temperament and capability to take on added duties including special projects and assignments as needed by the team
Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university is required. CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
Minimum two years recent experience working as an Accountant preferably as a Fixed Asset accountant
Experience with Oracle or other ERP general ledger software is preferred
Proficient in MS Excel and Microsoft Office. Cognos or other Business Intelligence tool experience is preferred
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills are required
Must be able to quickly evaluate the accuracy of data and information
Strong teamwork skills and display professional leadership demeanor
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and effectively meet deadlines for multiple assignments simultaneously
The ability to meet tight deadlines is essential
Strong customer service, teamwork skills and a professional attitude is needed
Ability to interact and communicate with senior levels of the financial management team
Ability to work with minimal supervision
