Team Summary
The Management Company Accounting (MCA) team is responsible for firm wide financial accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance & payroll. We are looking for Payroll professional for our Management Company Accounting group based in Lisbon. The ideal candidate should operate as a subject matter expert continuously looking for improvements in operational processes.
What You'll Do
- Handle end-to-end both US Payroll and Portugal Payroll, while working with external and internal consultants on employee tax & compliance matters.
- Manage tax and deductions for all federal, state, local or other taxes that affect US payroll, including statutory compliances with respect to 401K, Social Security, FICA, FUTA and other related compliances.
- Manage Portugal Social Security contributions and taxation regulations.
- Use ADP for payroll processing or any other platform for posting of payroll journal entries.
- Support employees with payroll-related inquiries resolve paycheck issues and address withholding tax questions.
- Prepare for and coordinate with auditors to ensure smooth payroll audit. processes.
- Generate compensation reports and other ad-hoc reports for management as needed.
- Manage employee reimbursements for staff in both the US and Portugal.
- Bachelor or a Master degree with 5 to 7 years of experience in Portuguese and US payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll taxes and compliance.
- Proven experience in processing both Portuguese and US Payroll, with a track record of working with tax and compliance consultants.
- Experience of working on ADP platform and posting of payroll journal entries.
- A good understanding employee tax and with-holding regulations in both US and Portugal.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
- US Payroll Certification is a plus.
