Aramark Destinations provides managed services for a diverse portfolio of accounts located throughout the country. The client stakeholders are the National Park Service, United States Forest Service, State Parks, Private Corporations and Public/Private Universities as well as other real estate owned and managed by Destinations.
The Senior Director of Facilities is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Destinations multi-site LOB Facilities function, ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, safety, and compliance of standard Facilities SOP?s. This position requires a forward-thinking leader to initiate standardized FacOps programs, optimize existing FacOps onsite operations, ensure training of field-based FacOps leadership, and lead the rollout of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for the business. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in large scale, multi-site facility management, operational strategies, and a deep understanding of industry best practices.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management across multi-site Fac Ops locations to support the Destinations portfolio.
- Develop and implement a complete suite of facilities management programs, which can be standardized for consistency across all properties.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities strategy aligned with the organization?s business objectives and growth plans.
- In partnership with Capital Programs Director, support long-term planning for real estate portfolio expansion, reduction, or reallocation to meet evolving needs.
- Lead space planning efforts, managing facility layouts, renovations, and redesigns to improve functionality and employee experience.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve facility performance, space utilization, and overall operational efficiency.
- Oversee all day-to-day facility operations, ensuring facilities are well-maintained, fully functional, and compliant with all regulatory standards.
- On-site FacOps Directors will hold dotted-line responsibility to Senior Director for preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring minimal downtime and optimized equipment life cycles.
- Develop and enforce facility policies and procedures, including emergency preparedness, health and safety protocols, and building security measures.
- Coordinate and negotiate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to maintain high standards in building services, including janitorial, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping. Familiarity with remote monitoring of systems is required.
- Drive sustainable facilities management practices to minimize environmental impact, reduce energy usage, and manage waste effectively.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement green building standards, such as LEED, WELL, and other sustainability certifications.
- Conduct energy audits with on-site team and Destinations Sustainability Director and implement energy management systems to optimize resource consumption and lower operational costs.
- Develop and manage annual facilities budgets, balancing cost control with quality and service level requirements.
- Perform regular financial analysis on large-scale facility expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational standards.
- Oversee capital expenditure planning, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Lead, mentor, and support on-site General Manager?s to develop a team of FacOps managers, engineers, and administrative support staff to foster a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Conduct regular team assessments, set performance goals, and provide ongoing coaching and professional development. Temporary cover key critical FacOps roles as needed.
- Ensure clear communication within the team and across departments to align facilities initiatives with organizational priorities.
- Establish a service-oriented culture that promotes responsiveness, quality, and accountability among all facilities staff.
- Ensure FacOps SOP?s comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Implement and manage security protocols to protect employees, assets, and company property, including physical and cybersecurity measures.
- Develop and regularly review emergency response plans, ensuring readiness and employee safety in the event of a crisis or natural disaster.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place, addressing potential threats to facilities and operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field along with pertinent experience; Master?s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing multi-site facilities, large budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with facility management software, building automation systems, and energy management tools.
- Strong understanding of facilities management best practices, building systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent strategic planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy management practices.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in industry standard facility management software, financial management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) or equivalent certification.
- LEED or WELL AP certification preferred.
- Working Conditions:
- This position may require at least 50% travel to company locations and occasional task force support as temporary back-fill for key vacancies
- Must be able to respond to facility-related emergencies outside regular work hours as necessary.
