Job Description

The Fleet Manager will oversee all aspects of fleet operations at Zephyr Cove Resort in Lake Tahoe, ensuring safety, efficiency, and optimal performance of the resort?s mobile equipment and vehicles, and the equipment and vehicles for Lake Tahoe Adventures and Adventure Mountain. This role is responsible for asset management, compliance with regulatory standards, and coordination with internal and external partners to meet operational goals. The Fleet Manager will lead a team of mechanics and collaborate with vendors to maintain the highest standards of safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

Fleet Operations:

Manage and optimize fleet assets, including inventory control, lifecycle cost analysis, and equipment right-sizing.

Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules in compliance with OEM and company standards.

Ensure all vehicles meet safety and emissions regulations, including DOT and state inspections.

Leadership and Team Management:

Supervise on-site mechanics and third-party vendors, prioritizing and scheduling workloads effectively.

Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and professionalism within the team.

Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to best practices, including workplace organization (5S).

Safety and Compliance:

Monitor and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including DOT/FMCSA and OSHA standards.

Track and report on key metrics, such as PM compliance, equipment effectiveness, and fleet policy adherence.

Cost Management:

Analyze repair trends, control costs, and provide data-driven recommendations for fleet improvements.

Prepare and manage budgets, including parts ordering, monthly billing, and cost reconciliations.

Collaboration:

Act as the primary liaison for fleet-related concerns, collaborating with operations teams and external service providers.

Communicate with internal departments, such as compliance, HR, and safety, to align fleet initiatives with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor?s degree in Maintenance Management, Fleet Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fleet or maintenance management, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., SRMP, AFE) or OEMs (e.g., Hyster, Yale) preferred.

Proficiency in IWMS/CMMS and MS Office applications; familiarity with Smartsheet is a plus.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

Effective leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams and vendor relationships.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
