We currently have exciting opportunities for Vehicle Systems Technicians to support vehicle builds in our Advanced Development organization, located at our Westfield Engineering Laboratory in Westfield, IN.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support internal and external Advanced Development Engineering vehicle builds and checkout prior to delivery
- Interface closely with other competencies to ensure requirements are properly provided and that the vehicle level requirements developed are properly implemented
- Follow direction from Vehicle Systems Engineers
- Read engineering vehicle mechanization drawings
- Disassemble/assemble vehicle interior and exterior panels
- Assemble component racks including computers, networking, and electronic instrumentation
- Build vehicle harnesses to specifications
- Self-motivated, well organized, flexible, works well with complex issues
- Coordinate with others to ensure Systems deliverables are completed on time per project schedules, have proper content and meet both internal and customer quality standards
- Identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement and implement appropriate initiatives
- Escalate execution issues, as needed

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in Automotive Industry
- 1+ years of experience with custom vehicle modifications
- Experience working on vehicles in a service dealership / repair facility.
- Skilled in the use of common mechanical and electrical tools (multimeters and diagnostics equipment)
- Experience with hand soldiering equipment
- Knowledge of basic DC Electrical Concepts
- Ability to comprehend schematics and vehicle service information
- Current driver's license
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
- Associates degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Knowledge of driver assistance systems (radar and / or camera technology)
- Knowledge of Active or Passive Safety Systems
- Experience with hardware / software interfaces and communication protocols
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, Flex ray, Ethernet
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in team environment
- Passionate about creating innovation cutting-edge automotive safety products
