Our Technical Center in Kraków is the largest R&D facility in Aptiv globally with more than 2,000 engineers contributing on a daily base towards safer, greener and more connected mobility solutions, often, together with almost all global vehicle manufacturers. We, Aptiv's Global Development Center for Radar Perception Software, are now looking for a strong leader to join our management team and coach the team during our journey towards more trustworthy perception software enabling different levels of ADAS/AD solutions.

Our department is responsible for development of radar perception software end-to-end, e.g., processing data received from sensors, generating object data and estimating other important information in surrounding environment. Our customers, as well as our internal stakeholders, then use our output to develop feature functions such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and various levels of automated driving functionality.

Your Role:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Manager to build, lead and manage a local team that will be a critical building block for securing realization of our technical roadmap and major deliveries at our site in Kraków.

Your daily tasks include:

  • Attracting and recruiting top-notch perception algorithm developers
  • Building a high performing team with technical excellence and can-do mindset
  • Coaching and guiding team individuals with your technical expertise
  • Understanding deeply team's current and planned activities and staying close to the development executions
  • Owning the budget and planning for potential staffing for the local team
  • Identifying competence gaps and mitigating via individual training plans
  • Being part of departmental leadership team
  • Giving input to department's resource estimations and technical roadmap

Your Background:

  • University degree in Control Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of technical or people management experience in related areas
  • Exhibiting advanced professional interest in people management, with particular focus on employee recruitment, coaching & development
  • Solid software or algorithm development experience and Agile understanding
  • Open-minded, solution-oriented and self-motivated personality
  • Strong team player and people empowerment skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking capability
  • Excellent communication, team work & social skills
  • Fluent in English written and verbally

Nice to have:

  • Experience in automotive standards, e.g., A-Spice and ISO26262
  • Experience in embedded software development
  • Experience in autonomous driving solutions
