This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions (S&PS) segment, Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) business unit.

Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity as we are looking for a Global Account Director - AP OEMs that will be located in Troy, MI.

This position is a sales leadership role within the Electrical Distribution Systems Business (Division of Signal and Power Solutions) that will focus on leading the Global Account for Asian OEMs.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • The Sales Organization is structure by Global Account Teams
  • Each key account team is led by a Global Account Director (GAD) responsible for a specific global customer. This role is focused on Asian OEMs.
  • The position has a mission to support existing business as well as develop and execute a strategy to capture future global business potential in NA, SA, EU and AP.
  • This position requires high level interface with the Executive Management organization globally.
  • Establish proactive communication and relationship with Asian OEMs to promote confidence and trust
  • Create and maintain customer response mechanisms which in the event of issues arising complement local and/or single Product Line processes
  • Ensure APTIV maximizes its content per vehicle by supporting robust multi-product battle plans that results in profitable and sustainable growth
  • Additionally, and as necessary through an objective data-driven process enables commercial decision making (e.g. price and ‘givebacks')
  • Ensure customer demands are managed through the appropriate internal processes such that all responses are made within and consistent with our commercial policy
  • Create and drive deployment of strategic plan for customer through the operation of customer team and interaction with all relevant functions. Regularly report on progress to strategic goals and act to correct deviation/shortfall

6-12 month key deliverables / outcomes:

  • A robust customer relationship and profitable, long-term growth orientation with special focus on: delivering profitable new business, managing pre-launch profitability, managing ongoing customer / portfolio profitability
  • A strategic plan and goals specific to the customer encompassing all products and all regions, specifically the identification of strategic/business opportunities to consolidate the relationship and grow APTIV's market share
  • Get APTIV engagement with the customer to a level where is considered the obvious/natural development partner of the customer
  • An effective customer communication process and intelligence system
  • Use monitoring mechanisms to ensure APTIV is "performing" in the perception of the customer, proactively securing action to address performance shortfalls/dis-qualifiers

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business
  • Proven specific customer expertise & product expertise is a key requirement
  • Experience in leading a global sales team in manufacturing or technology industry
  • Track record in managing complex commercial discussions (auctions, disputes etc.)
  • Track record in establishing global customer strategies and increasing revenue/growth.
  • Proven experience in building sales capabilities.
  • Operations and supply chain background is a plus.
