Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Manager
(This is temporary contract for around 12 months/maternity cover).
About role: The FOSS Manager will be responsible for managing Aptiv's Free and Open Source Software program at all stages of the software development process. From the early stages of the project the FOSS Manager will review the Open Source-related customer requirements and support their implementation into the development process. The FOSS Manager will then work with software architects, developers, and engineers to ensure compliance with legal and technical requirements related to the use of open source software as well as with the customers to address all OSS-related topics and manage legal and technical risks regarding the usage of OSS. FOSS Manager will also be responsible for the prioritization of team's effort and keeping track of those efforts' outcome. Apart from the above, FOSS Manager will also be responsible for driving innovation into the vulnerability and license compliance processes and spreading awareness of the matter among the members of the technical teams.

Major Accountabilities:
- Review and support implementation of customers' requirements into development process.
- Cooperate with development teams to ensure proper prioritization and streamlining of team's tasks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements in order to enhance process' efficiency.
- Support internal process of vulnerabilities detection and tracking within the developed software.
- Manage the process ensuring Open Source license compliance, aimed on meeting the requirements of respective licenses and excluding the use of certain licenses.
- Preparing, gathering and presenting the documentation requested by the customers.
- Organizing trainings and workshops aimed on broadening the awareness of Open Source-related matters.
- Develop and maintain documentation for Open source compliance within software development processes as well as methodologies, and tools, ensuring alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational best practices.
- Generate reports and dashboards to communicate key metrics, performance indicators, and process improvements to stakeholders.
- Ad hoc team members support and advisory in Open Source-related topics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Law or similar
- 5+ years of experience working with either Compliance, Process, Security Vulnerabilities or directly with FOSS, preferably in the automotive industry
- Deep understanding of open source software licensing and compliance requirements
- Experience in creating and maintaining policies, processes, and procedures related to FOSS management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of copyright law and the ability to manage copyright topics related to software products
- Familiarity with FOSS tools and processes, such as scanning tools, compliance management systems, and license management databases
- Ability to plan and coordinate FOSS activities across multiple projects and teams
- Ability to make decisions about the usage of open source software based on legal, technical, and business considerations
- Excellent English skills.
