What You'll Do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Transportation Manager to join our Global Logistics Operations Team. This Transportation Manager will oversee our North America Transportation Network for assigned areas. Draw from your higher-level skills in this growth-oriented position at Applied Materials, a global leader in the dynamic and flourishing semiconductor industry. This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience using industry and company best practices to solve problems and keep projects and programs running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily oversight of transportation network (North America International & Domestic).
- Point of contact for shipment/carrier issues in North America.
- Manage key escalations from customer/Field Service Operations/Global Customer Contact Centre on timely basis. Expedite carrier recovery on customer tool down situation. Provide guidance to others. Correct carrier defect in major event impacting customer.
- Project Manage assigned portion of new carrier RFP's and onboarding.
- Carrier performance management - proactively review carrier defect analysis and improve on-time performance.
- Manage mid/complex level initiatives and projects.
- Conduct cost analysis and propose changes within our logistics network.
- Provide guidance to extended Team members.
- Ensure 8D's (Eight Disciplines Methodology) are requested & appropriate corrective actions are in place for significant and/or ongoing transportation issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline
- Must be located near an Applied Materials office and go in as requested/needed
- Minimum of 7-10 years in a similar role, ideally within the semiconductor or similar industry
- Must have or be able to obtain a US passport
- A strong knowledge of Logistics Transportation Management
- Strong analytics skills, including Six Sigma approach
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Strong Excel Skills, including ability to perform summaries and analysis using advanced Excel functionality
- Working knowledge of SAP and TMS Software
- The ability to work independently but also part of a global team
- Ability to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; in this role you may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
- Project Management experience

U.S. Salary Range:
$96,000.00 - $132,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
