Description

You'll take ownership to ensure the visual content captured by Production Services achieves high production values. During events in campus theaters, you'll perform in various operator roles: technical director, robotic camera operator, playback operator, stage manager, and more! You have a track record delivering high-quality results, with minimal direction, in an environment where expectations are high, timelines are challenging, and details matter. You multi-task and establish priorities, including daily re-prioritization, and don't need to be reminded to follow-up and follow-through. During down time, you'll own preventative maintenance and calibrate systems to guarantee optimum performance. When not actively engaged with productions and venue maintenance, you'll shift to help the team in various ways, depending on the needs of the day. This includes cross-training to perform in other operator roles and providing high-touch AV support in conference rooms. You'll also keep documents updated (e.g., line drawings, SOPs, and service agreements) and assist with system design and specification of gear for various projects. You are able to remain flexible and prepared for changes to the schedule, including working early mornings, evenings, or weekends, as needed.
  • 7+ years of experience as a video engineer in production environments (e.g., studios, networks, broadcast trucks, and live events)
  • Additional job experience as a technical director, camera operator or audio engineer.
  • Expertise operating LED walls, image processors, and other technology to showcase content (e.g., movies, television shows, and Keynote presentations) in a variety of viewing environments
  • Hands-on experience with content creation and post production workflows, including knowledge of common recording and playback formats and standards
  • Strong optic measurement and calibration skills, conforming to color space SDR and HDR standards with ability to provide supporting data reports
  • Background in system design, with ability to create CAD plans and documentation
  • Strong vendor management and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure as a playback operator, editor, audio engineer or lighting technician
  • Superior communication skills, with an ability to summarize and share relevant information in a clear and easy-to-understand way, across all levels. You skillfully communicate with creatives and executives to develop trust and strong partnerships
  • Highly proficient in identifying and resolving operational errors, with strong experience in signal routing, monitoring, and quality assurance
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
