Description

You will be responsible for advising and providing innovative EH&S solutions for Apple's products and services and work alongside legal, engineering, and business teams on a range of cutting edge issues. This role will report through the Real Estate Legal team. Key responsibilities include: (i) advising internal business partners on environmental, health and safety regulatory matters for Apple's products, facilities and people; (ii) developing strategies that prioritize EH&S regulatory compliance and mitigate business risk; (iii) monitoring updates to global EH&S regulations and supporting company-wide compliance procedures; (iv) investigating and responding to requests for information, compliance orders, and enforcement actions; (v) coordinating internal and external investigations, compliance reviews and monitoring activities; (vi) providing strategic guidance on managing relationships with various regulatory bodies at all levels including developing communication plans, inspection strategies and best practices; and (vii) supporting environmental due diligence for real property transactions, including deal structuring to mitigate environmental risk. The job involves on-the-ground legal work and participating in strategic discussions on how to best meet Apple's EH&S requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience at either at a top law firm or in-house.
  • Knowledge of global environment, health and safety regulations applicable to various real estate facilities.
  • Experience providing strategic, practical and actionable advice to business teams.
  • Experience advising on regulatory compliance and related issues.
  • JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.

  • Able to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to lead, take action, and provide direction in the face of ambiguity.
  • Experience quickly issue-spotting, analyzing, and clearly communicating EH&S advice on complex legal issues.

  • Strong analytical capability with attention to detail.
  • Ability to partner at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong individual contributor who thrives in a team environment.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $221,600 and $333,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
