Description
We are seeking a creative, motivated leader to join Apple's Financing and Retail Systems team as a Quality Engineering Manager. In this role, you'll lead a team of talented engineers, driving the testing and quality assurance efforts for a suite of applications critical to our retail operations. As the leader of the Functional QA team, you will be responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality software products. You will implement and refine QA processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with broader organizational goals. Your leadership will help cultivate a culture of quality across multiple teams, driving continuous improvement in our testing practices and product outcomes. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for software quality, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of both the technical and strategic aspects of QA. You'll mentor team members, helping them grow in their careers, while staying ahead of emerging trends in quality assurance tools and techniques. Your expertise will help guide the team as we work to deliver high-quality solutions that delight customers in Apple Retail Stores.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a proven track record across the full software development life cycle
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, guiding teams toward excellence
- Strong mentoring skills and a commitment to team development
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing comprehensive test plans, assessing risk, identifying defects, and generating detailed test reports
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to triage issues, prioritize, and propose actionable solutions
- Detail-oriented with a creative mindset and a passion for quality processes
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Retail industry experience is a plus
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $286,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
