Description
As an experienced software test engineer, your responsibilities will focus on functional, regression, integration testing, and UI automation development for the Photos application on our platforms, including, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS. With a supportive team, you will independently investigate, triage and escalate hard problems. Daily work focuses on iterative software validation of existing and new features & technologies, while working closely with others to deliver timely and focused test results. The work environment demands balancing differing phases of multiple concurrent projects. Accountable for writing, monitoring and triaging automation results. Excellent communication skills are needed due to the extensive collaboration with others.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong experience in writing and running test plans; discovering and documenting software and hardware defects; prioritizing and escalating problems to peers and management
- Experience in developing UI Automation, with an ability to design tests that are reliable and effective
- Experience with Python, Swift, XCTest, remote VM testing, and general CI processes
- Familiarity with Apple's hardware and software ecosystem
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding a team through the testing and delivery of interdependent features, with a pronounced sense of accountability for the results
- Testing with digital media, including image & video editing, with an eye for evaluating photographic quality and the utility of different media formats
- Proficiency in using common shell commands and a comfort level with CLI-based testing approaches
- A high level of comfort in expressing well-thought-out opinions, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to aligning with the overarching vision.
- Love for photography, both still and moving images, and a drive to improve and celebrate it
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $97,300 and $188,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
