The Streaming Media Team within the Audio & Media Technologies organization (AMT) at Apple is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to design and develop Streaming Media experiences across Apple's platforms, including iPhones/iPads, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and macOS, by leveraging core technologies and frameworks such as CoreMedia and AVFoundation.

Description

As a Media Streaming Engineer, you will be responsible for prototyping breakthrough ideas, developing features & APIs, contributing to systems design, and optimizing performance for streaming media's machine learning frameworks. Your creativity will help shape protocols, implementations, and services that deliver cutting-edge multimedia experiences to our customers. To succeed in this role, you must be versatile, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and work seamlessly with a diverse group of people, handling ambiguities with ease.
  • Software development experience in one or more of the following: Swift, Objective-C, C
  • Experience in developing and maintaining APIs for embedded platforms
  • Deep understanding of operating systems, memory management and multi-threaded programming
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience

  • Excellent analytical, programming, and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for learning new technologies and eagerness to absorb new concepts
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly cross-functional team environment

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,909 and $214,500 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
