Be at the center of the action on new product development for iPad Systems and Input devices! The Hardware Engineering Program Manager (HW EPM) will drive a multi-functional team of skilled Electrical and Mechanical engineers, utilizing a solid EE background to understand and communicate cross-functional issues and risks. The HW EPM will be responsible for planning, release and delivery of the flex boards and main logic PCB subsystem to system build events through a product development life cycle. This is a rapidly growing and exciting position to demonstrate both deep technical expertise and program management skills.

Description
Lead multi-functional development teams for the main logic PCBA, manage and track development schedules, identify and prioritize project tasks and risks, drive deliveries and issues with global suppliers, integrate their work and schedules into the project, communicate status and the big picture to the project team and management. Planning and execution of product prototype builds, including materials planning and factory readiness. Ownership of system level flexes and boards: manage the internal design review process and release to vendors, review design changes with cross functional teams, manage vendors and materials, and drive overall schedule for on-time delivery to final assembly. Establish daily build schedule and distribution plan for identified builds to support overall project plan for in-region and local builds. Primary point of contact for the program with our CM partners for your area; provide clear direction on requests to the factory.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering required, Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 3+ years experience in hardware engineering or operations program management - proven ability to effectively manage factory build events and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with portable consumer electronics devices.
- Experience with PCBA design, layout, or DFM a plus.
- Strong technical background in EE. Additional ME / Mechatronics background is a plus.
- Leadership skills and ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
- Superior attention to detail - ability to manage complex build matrices and detailed build planning.
- Self motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
- Experience interfacing with cross functional teams including Mechanical Engineering and Design, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Marketing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to support international travel for build events.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
