Description
In this highly impactful role, you will use your mechanical design engineering skills to bring our Magic products to life. This looks like: Collaborating with industrial designers, hardware, software, product integrity, and technology teams to define the vision of a product. Exploring multiple product form factors and developing new product architectures. Defining kinematic behaviors to support ergonomic optimization. Integrating mechanisms, sensors, and other electromechanical components. Partnering with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability. Ensuring design meets requirements through the life of the product through stress and tolerance analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, testing, and failure analysis. Traveling ~10-15% of the year to Cupertino and Asia to support engineering build activities. If those things sound like the kind of challenges you find intriguing, then let's talk!
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ yrs experience in a mechanical engineering design role
- Solid engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, kinematics and mechanism design, and manufacturing.
- Great communication skills: written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorms.

- Eagerness to work in a dynamic environment and dependably complete individual work.
- Prior experience in other relevant industries promotes diverse perspectives and approaches to solving problems.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
