Description
As a member of the Discovery Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for: - Performing hands-on forensic data collection and Discovery processing services. - Acting as a liaison with Apple legal and legal specialists to coordinate on day-to-day Discovery data collection and processing requests. - Providing technical requirements and guidance to internal and external development teams to drive the development of Discovery tools. - Maintaining case and data archive inventories and retention programs, using databases and legal systems. - Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for Discovery processing and data collection. - Creating detailed, professional documentation and reports, including performance metrics and investigation reports. - Partnering with case teams to develop defensible approaches to data collection and processing.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of macOS file system structures and command line tools
- Experience with data processing in an electronic discovery environment
- In-depth knowledge of digital forensics techniques and tools
- Experience with custodial data collections for Discovery and/or forensic processing
- Ability to manage multiple short-term requests of varying priority and SLAs as well as long-term projects
- Experience supporting non-technical organizations with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient with BSD/Linux shell environments and scripting (bash, perl, python)
- Experience operating Discovery processing tools and platforms (Relativity, Nuix, Reveal, Insight)
- Experience with filesystem forensic toolkits (EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite)
- Ability to use command-line text processing tools (grep, awk, sed) to manipulate data
- Basic understanding of data encryption/decryption technologies and tools (PGP, GPG, S/MIME, FileVault)
- Digital Forensic certification, diploma or degree or 5+ years of equivalent, hands-on forensics or legal/discovery experience
- Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectively in a positive and practical manner
- Interest in and ability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and take ownership of projects while balancing time, quality, cost, and risk
- Ability to foster and facilitate teamwork by cultivating relationships, collaborating, and effectively communicating with teammates and cross-functional partners in the pursuit of team goals; shares information and supports others
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
