The Audio Media Technologies Group (AMT) provides the audio, video, and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including AirPods, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and macOS. We are seeking a creative and organized test engineer to perform manual testing on the next generation AirPods for our platforms and work with automated solutions to support and enhance our quality initiatives. You will be responsible for testing in these areas: Audio Drivers, Firmware. Description
In this role, you will contribute to the development and testing of our next-generation interactive computing platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to comprehend the requirements, challenges, and existing tools. And you will be involved in defining and refining team test tools, processes, and procedures. You must possess self-motivation, exceptional communication abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. In this role, you will be expected to work effectively both within a team and independently. The dynamic nature of the job demands an individual who can thrive under pressure and swiftly adapt to new technologies for effective audio testing. We seek a candidate who is driven by curiosity while prioritizing timely delivery of results. A keen ear for quality is a fundamental requirement.
- 3-5+ years of experience in general test engineering required
- Expertise in audio testing, software testing, isolation issues, devising test plans, aiming to specification
- A foundational understanding of electronic and audio technology
- Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution
- Strong ear for sound anomalies and the validation of sound quality
- Familiarity with real-time audio handling (sample rates, buffering, PCM, drivers, etc.)
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Music Technology, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to script in Python
- Audio DSP experience
- Understanding of game audio implementation
- Musicians welcome
