We work closely with multi-disciplined specialists including mechanical engineers, system engineers, industrial designers, audio tuners and components suppliers to conceptualize and create transducers that enhance the audio experience for our customers. Description
As an Acoustic Transducer Engineer at Apple, you will work with a team of people who are passionate about audio and delivering the best possible user experience. You will drive all aspects of transducer design and development, helping our manufacturing partners scale production and testing. The role involves linear and non-linear computer simulation of electromagnetic, acoustics and structural mechanics. You will optimize each design aspect for our custom transducers and work with other multi-functional teams to deliver an extraordinary audio experience to millions.
- 3+ years of transducer design experience, single suspension micro speaker design preferred
- Good understanding of loudspeaker design methods, materials and assembly techniques together with their integration into products.
- Experience with 3D solid modeling and meshing tools
- Working knowledge of Finite Element Method and/or Boundary Element Method simulation tools for mechanics, acoustics and magnetic circuits (eg. COMSOL)
- Working knowledge of lumped-parameter simulation methods and tools, as implemented in either equivalent circuit simulators (PSpice, Micro Cap, MATLAB, etc.) or System Dynamics simulators (Simulink)
- Working knowledge of Speaker LPM and nonlinear parameters measurements systems like Klippel
- Proven ability to provide effective failure analysis of transducers through prototype to mass production builds
- Accomplished communicator, self-disciplined with the ability to prioritize and focus
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Acoustics or an equivalent field (physics, electrical or mechanical engineering, etc.) required, preferably advanced degree.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,300 and $193,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
