Overview

Alteryx, Inc. is looking for a technical Product Delivery Program Manager to help guide efforts within our Product and Engineering organization as we develop and release cloud analytics software. The program manager is responsible for guiding teams through the software development lifecycle to deliver strategic product enhancements and outcomes, on time, with quality. Our program managers use exceptional soft skills to act as the glue that binds together product development efforts spanning multiple technology and operational teams to ensure they are effective, while minimizing waste and risk. The role requires a solid grounding in agile-lean software development practices, excellent communication (written and oral), as well as leadership with a gentle (but persistent) and well-organized touch.

The Product Delivery Program Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders across the Product & Engineering organization, encouraging and highlighting ownership, while sometimes navigating friction and ambiguity. We are looking for someone who has great attention to detail, is process-oriented, acts according to high standards, and is results-driven with a passion for continuous improvement, adopting a systematic approach.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Execution - Realize Product and Engineering strategy by proactively helping teams pave the path from idea through launch while ensuring the highest level of outcomes. Make recommendations on how best to achieve strategy by making sure the team and organization understand desired goals, what success looks like and by ensuring there are clearly established priorities.
  • Orchestration, Alignment and Communication - Simultaneously facilitate multiple programs within the investment area while understanding how the program delivery complexities fit into the bigger product delivery vision. The Program Manager orchestrates progress from inception to delivery while ensuring alignment between engineering, product, and operations peers. Program managers act as the primary communication liaison for each program by facilitating critical conversations, taking responsibility for shared understanding of status and radiating that information in a consistent and consumable way to stakeholders. Program managers escalate and manage dependencies, issues and risks and ensure action plans are in place.
  • Organizing for Success - For each program, ensure that a charter is established with clear objectives, resources, deliverables, and definitions of success; and that all stakeholders are aware of, and aligned with, scope and target milestones. Ensure that the team understands the plan and they are working to deliver on time to the agreed upon release plan. Ensure program level activities are well understood through a regular cadence of team and executive communications, program artifacts, metrics and processes.
  • Meeting Facilitation - Demonstrate excellent facilitation skills in moderating meetings. Examples include engaging all participants to facilitate their best contribution, sending agendas ahead of time, establishing clear objectives, managing the process to realize these objectives, capturing key content, summarizing & sharing key take-aways, and following up promptly on all action items.
  • Analytics and Tools - Act as the source of truth for the organization by ensuring reported information is evidence-based, accurate, complete, and consistent so that best next actions and decisions can be taken.
  • Team Participation & Continuous Improvement - Actively contribute to the cohesion and effectiveness of the program management team by adding new ideas, sharing successes and failures, and showing up with a continuous improvement mindset.

Valued Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology or other relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Program/Project Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting complex concepts and information to customers and senior management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical team members, including to leadership within the company.
  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of product and software development lifecycles end-to-end.
  • A proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
  • Flexibility to work with people multiple different time zones (USA, Europe, India).
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines.

Compensation

Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.

The salary range for this role in California, Colorado, Washington, Texas, and Rhode Island is $115,000 - $130,400.

In addition, you may be eligible for other compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
