HII USG has an exciting systems engineering role to develop, integrate, test, and field autonomous maritime vehicles. This individual will apply strong integration and test experience and technical knowledge to solve the challenges in engineering unmanned systems. The role works within a multi-disciplinary team, this individual will perform the following:
- Lead analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of systems aboard UUVs and USVs
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer and mission needs into system requirements
- Demonstrates attention to detail and develops and maintains accurate documentation

Essential Job Responsibilities
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Minimum Qualifications
2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Must have secret clearance #LI-MH1
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Matlab
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Domain knowledge and contextual understanding of robotics and use of robotics in naval mission space, especially autonomous vehicles
Physical Requirements
Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
