This is a hands-on REMOTE position that can be performed anywhere in the US.

The TSD-IT Information Systems (IS) Project Manager is a hands-on technical project management position with high visibility and large levels of responsibility. The PM is responsible for providing end-to-end cross-discipline leadership of IS projects ranging from business application and infrastructure implementations, to business change initiatives. They are accountable for on-time, on-budget, high quality project delivery. The PM plans and manages the project throughout its life cycle. This project manager is expected to manage multiple projects with varying complexity, risk, and/or business critical projects; and actively champion and contribute to continuous improvement of project management office (PMO) best practices. This PM is the advocate for the project team; including business stakeholders.
What you will do:
• Project Planning – Works closely with the project team and business stakeholders to define the approach, activities and timelines for project execution, leveraging project management and system development life cycle (SDLC) best practices. Tailor standard project methodologies to define pragmatic approaches for specific initiatives.
• Project Management – Applies modern project management techniques to manage a project, achieving objectives of scope, quality, time and cost; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare progress reports; present to executive steering committee; proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues; manage project changes; develop relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Team Management – Holds project teams accountable for project responsibilities and deliverables; proactively ensure that teams are 'in sync' in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc.; develop project teams by promoting empowerment, engagement and high quality deliverables.
• Process Management and Improvement – Champions continuous improvement and adoption of PMO and SDLC best practices using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness.
• Change Management – Seeks to understand change impacts resulting from the project and leads the team in defining and executing change management plans. Proactively encourages cross-functional business involvement in projects, building trusting relationships with business counterparts to ensure alignment and buy-in to business and system solutions.
What you must have:
- 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
- • Ability to manage projects remotely with team members located throughout the US in different time zones.
• Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies and the system development life cycle (SDLC).
• Driven, proactive and a do-er with exceptional organization skills.
• A strong communicator with the ability to pull out and summarize information and tailor communication style and content for a variety of audiences.
• Must be able to establish project goals, validate and confirm acceptance, challenge stakeholders, and hold stakeholders accountable.
• Ability to take a consultative approach to understand requirements, drill into details, and resolve issues.
• Ability to facilitate resolution of technical issues. Capable of interpreting technical information and communicating this information to different audiences in a way they can understand.
• Experience leading a variety of different types of projects including COTS implementations, system integration, infrastructure, business process.
• Skilled in building trusted relationships with team members and project stakeholders.
• Ability to effectively address and resolve conflict.
Physical Requirements
Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
