Who we are:
HII-Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is looking to hire a Cloud Engineer to work out of their Annapolis Junction, MD office.
This position supports cloud analytic development for our IC customers, we are looking for candidates are self-motivated and eager to develop services and capabilities to evaluate information at the scale and speed required for high-impact mission priorities.
What you would do:
Builds, designs, implements and refines cloud architectures and provides prescriptive guidance across the network and security. Leads early scoping definitions and identifies critical dependencies. Identifies and mitigates technology risks and develops architecture to support processes. Collaborates with functional business units to drive business solutions and direction. Develops and documents framework for integration and implementation of cloud systems. Understands and determines sizing, capacity planning and requirements for infrastructure, network, and security in the cloud offering.

The candidate would provide support to Persona mission by developing cloud software solutions to include creation, integration, enhancement, and sustainment of analytics (Java MapReduce, QTA, and Pig). The candidate would also support data research and engineering, requirement analysis, evaluation, resolution, testing and valuation.
What we are looking for:
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- At least eight (8) years of general experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- At least six (6) years of experience developing software with high level languages (such as Java, C, C++), developing software in UNIX/Linux (RedHat versions 3-5+), and software integration and testing (to include developing and implementing test plans and scripts).
- At least four (4) years of experience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL) such as H Base, CloudBase/Accumulo, Big Table, etc., as well as Map Reduce programming model, the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Etc.
- Shall have demonstrated work experience with 1) Serialization such as JSON and/or BSON, 2) developing restful services, and 3) using source code management tools.
- Clearance: Must possess and be able to maintain an active TS/SCI wPolly
Bonus Points for:
- Experience with Java MapReduce, Accumulo, QTA, Pig, Linux, HTML/CSS
