Strategic Sourcing Director (Process & Technology)

Overall Summary

The Procurement Excellence Process & Technology Director is a strategic, innovative, and results-oriented professional who drives organizational performance, procurement reform, and best practices in procurement. The role is responsible for implementing a Procurement Excellence program that streamlines, simplifies, and standardizes end-to-end procurement processes, policies, and governance. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to align procurement strategies with company objectives, ensure compliance, and deliver cost savings and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of technology, procurement technology and mapping processes.
  • Mastery of configuration and performance of all supporting/enabling Procurement processes, for technology for Strategic Sourcing's E2E systems (e.g., P2P, S2C).
  • Ability to synthesize information to understand and challenge category strategies to ensure supporting capabilities are in place to enable service delivery.
  • Proactively engage Strategic Sourcing team to define requirements and drive tool selection and implementation/configuration.
  • Relentlessly gather feedback (data, opinion, etc.) to inform continuous improvement and never satisfied with performance levels.
  • Keep abreast of latest trends in Process and Technology area and regularly share information to educate the broader team.
  • Advanced skills in process, technology, analysis and report generation.
  • Robust use of Microsoft Office Suite (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Smartsheet and Procurement tools.
  • Proven experience with system enhancement for integrated procurement system processes.
  • Transform current and envisioned procurement needs into technical specifications for workstream teams to create effective and compliant workflows.
  • Identify and locate relevant technological tools; advancements; and process solutions.
  • Explore automation possibilities for procedural and functional applications.
  • Advance the procurement process through digitization to boost operational efficiency, enrich customer interactions, and foster innovation.
  • Grasp complex supply chain challenges including globalization, digitization of products, processes, and assets, as well as refining supply chain operations.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of the entire transformation program lifecycle from conceptual strategy to execution.
  • Pioneer digital procurement strategies to enhance productivity, quality, market readiness, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Develop sourcing templates with a keen emphasis on automation and digitization.
  • Advocate for technological innovation and automation.
  • Automate and digitize in the procure-to-pay sequence for heightened efficiency and minimized manual operations.
  • Collaborate closely with organization to introduce innovations using Procurement Technologies.
  • Remain knowledgeable about the latest industry developments and breakthroughs in supply chain management to spur innovation.
  • Pinpoint opportunities to automate processes while keeping current with industry progressions and adhering to data privacy and risk standards.
  • Spearhead advancements in technology and tool usage, fostering transformative changes within the team and broader business context.
  • Consistently enhance and update professional proficiency by monitoring market trends and technological shifts.
  • Create Process maps to have shared understanding of all steps involved in a procurement process to identify which steps are creating more strain than value; gaps in services; re-work; poor delegation; analyze process map; assess obstacles to change; reduce cycle times; share; communicate; and, engage.
  • Process mapping and vendor surveys to diagnose pain points and eliminate process bottlenecks to map each step of the procurement process.
  • Communicate and report shared understanding for buy-in to improve the process with key stakeholders.
  • Standardize and consolidate forms to reduce administrative burdens by re-work and duplication of efforts.
  • Design and execute meaningful solutions for problem areas.
  • Follow best practice contract management processes.
  • Process mapping and building stakeholder engagement along with a shared understanding of all steps involved in a procurement process to foster discussion around which steps create more strain than value to better design and execute meaningful solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional groups to map the E2E process and define all inputs, outputs, and/or business stakeholders across the organization.
  • Drive process improvements for cross workstream Procurement functions.
  • Analyzing current processes to understand strengths and weaknesses.
  • Create/map RFP process.
  • Define and implement appropriate process enhancements to address identified gaps and support consistency across the organization.
  • Analyzing current processes to understand strengths and weaknesses.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and systems.
  • Alignment of processes within Procurement's ERMS and other systems to ensure efficient and compliant workflows.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum Requirement: BBA/BA/BS in business, finance, supply chain management or another related field.
  • 10 Years Experience with knowledge of procurement's process and technology systems. Understanding of Smartsheet, Excel and Visio preferred.
  • Process mapping experience required
  • Demonstrated capability in process improvement and collaboration
  • Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment and build strong internal and cross-functional relationships
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, written, spoken, and presentation
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional colleagues and leadership in all regions.
  • Strong background in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain operations, process, technology and/or data analytics with proven leadership skills and the ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion across multiple functions
  • Critical thinker, collaborate well with others, adaptable, flexible, team player and problem solver.
