Job Description:

Procurement within Alteryx is going through an exciting period of transformation implementing digital procurement solutions, embedding processes, and leveraging category management principles. This transformation is required to support Procurement's mission to be a collaborative advisor delivering customer-centric, timely and cost-effective solutions in support of Alteryx's business objectives.

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the team who is experienced with Marketing Services procurement that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, meetings & events, demand/lead generation activities, web & creative services, sponsorships, and public relations. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will have global oversite of the Marketing Services category collaborating with stakeholders across the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions providing world-class partnership. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will work closely with all levels of management and senior executives to collaboratively define requirements, define source strategies, execute RFx processes, and negotiate & contract agreements favorable to Alteryx. The ideal candidate is eager to help shape the future of Alteryx's marketing program!

Primary Responsibilities: the Strategic Sourcing Manager will spend the majority of their time on the following core areas:

  • Partner with the Marketing leadership team to develop + implement multi-year category plans aligned with business and Procurement priorities.


  • Collaborate + align with cross-functional teams such as FP&A, Legal, InfoSec and Risk Management to optimize Marketing's budget and mitigate Alteryx's risk.


  • Leverage industry trends, internal spend data, contract expiration reporting and business requirements to help create strategies that will proactively identify opportunities to help the Marketing team and Procurement meet their objectives.


  • Act as procurement subject matter expert + liaison with the Marketing team ensuring adherence to Procurement policies, and manage the remediation and resolution of sourcing issues.


  • Conduct systematic meetings with stakeholders ensuring alignment with projects and deals, and be agile when Marketing team priorities change.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day procurement activities related to deals, contracts and projects that includes ensuring up-to-date records within Procurement's purchasing, contract lifecycle and cost savings tracking systems.


  • Draft, edit and negotiate contracts leveraging Alteryx templates (and supplier's paper when applicable) that include, but not limited to, master agreements (MSAs), SOWs, amendments, order forms, and NDAs. Leverage Procurement's internal contract playbook, developed in collaboration with Legal, to facilitate the contract review process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, supply chain, procurement, finance, management or related field.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Marketing Services procurement, or related field.


  • Experience using analytics, industry trends, and other available data to create sourcing strategies and identify optimization opportunities.


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple initiatives at the same time, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.


  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills to influence internal stakeholders and suppliers.


  • Proven experience exemplifying developed attention to detail, a growth mindset, eager to have fun, and an ability to set and meet deadlines will be important for the success in this role.


  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners; be viewed as a procurement expert and trusted advisor.


  • Strong understanding of cost levers and value drivers associated with Marketing Services categories.

Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.

The salary range for this role in California is between $120,000 - $145,000.

In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as bonus and stock grants. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits (subject to eligibility), including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
