As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be trusted to provide front-line supervision, leadership, and work direction to maintenance teams, including time and attendance, performance management, training oversight, and development at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Developing team goals that align with the department's annual objectives and encouraging individual growth and contributions by team members.
  • Leading day-to-day production operations and continuously supervising results to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Handling multiple priorities, and efficiently holding others accountable for results.
  • Leading by example, encouraging all associates to act under what we value.
  • Optimizing and continuously improving the manufacturing and maintenance process and equipment uptime.
  • Tracking, evaluating, and reporting key quality performance indicators, as well as corrective and preventive actions.
  • Troubleshooting problems regarding product quality and equipment.
  • Settling and communicating planning priorities and production schedules and resolving potentially conflicting priorities.
  • Leading and implementing continuous improvement processes within the manufacturing area using industry-known lean manufacturing.
  • Helping lead significant projects.
  • Leading HR activities such as performance appraisals, training, interviewing, counseling, and staff and resource utilization.
  • Ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all associates, following company policies & procedures, as well as employment law.
  • Handling conflict and dealing efficiently with others in a diverse workforce.
  • Building a positive work environment that engages associates and enables and rewards strong performance.
  • Providing a safe working environment that aligns with applicable standards and ensuring that associates are working safely.
  • Operating under established policies and procedures to meet commitments with Alcon's standards (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, & Conduct).
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 1 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Work hours: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday; 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • Travel Requirements: None
