Summary:

In collaboration with the Director of Strategy, the Strategy Specialist plays a key role the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives. The Strategy Specialist analyzes healthcare trends, assesses growth opportunities, and collaborates with various departments to ensure strategic initiatives align with the hospital's overall strategic plan.


Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supports the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives by applying industry best practices.
  2. Assists in the execution of strategic plans by tracking progress, providing feedback, and helping implement adjustments as necessary.
  3. Conducts analyses to assess strategic opportunities, contributes to the development of initiatives, and prepares recommendations for leadership in collaboration with team members.

4. Leads or participates in cross-functional project teams for the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

  1. Assists in the ongoing assessment of Akron Children’s geographic markets, programs, services, and competitors to inform decision-making.
  2. Contributes to the creation of reporting tools and dashboards to support the strategy, marketing, and business development teams.


Technical Expertise

1. Advanced proficiency in MS Office [PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word].

2. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and ability to work independently.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

4. Experience facilitating strategic planning retreats, workshops, and group planning activities, ensuring effective collaboration, goal setting, and actionable outcomes.

5. Experience with project management.

6. Experience with data analysis and market research is preferred.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field required. Master’s degree is preferred.

2. Licensure: None

3. Certification: None

4. Years of relevant experience: At least 3 years in a related field. Healthcare experience is preferred.

5. Years of supervisory experience: None
