Job Responsibilities
- Perform full cycle medical insurance collections for multispecialty physician and hospital services
- Collect on government Medicare, Medicaid, Worker's Compensation, and commercial insurance and patient outstanding balances
- Medical Collectors follow up on insurance claim status, resolve denials & rejections, submit re-bills, re-submit claims, and file appeals
- Medical Collectors establish payment plans, accept payment, and work aging reports
- Medical Collectors post insurance and patient payments (cash, check, credit card, Explanation of Benefits, EOB, EFT, lock box)
- Medical Collectors manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Medical Collectors obtain insurance verification, precertification, and authorization via phone and insurance payer portals
- Medical Collectors update patient accounts with registration, insurance, demographic, scheduling, and billing data
- Medical Collectors provide superior high volume patient customer service in a fast paced environment
- Medical Collectors use Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Outlook, medical software, payer portals, and type 40+WPM

Requirements
- 1+ performing full cycle medical insurance collections for multispecialty physician and hospital services
- Medical Collectors must have prior experience collecting on government, Medicare, Medicaid, Worker's Compensation, and commercial insurance and patient balances
- Medical Collectors must have prior experience following up on claim status, resolving denials & rejections, re-billings, re-submitting claims, & filing appeals
- Medical Collectors must have prior experience managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Medical Collectors must have prior experience posting insurance and patient payments, cash applications, cash posting (nation of Benefits, EOB, EFT, lock box)
- Medical Collectors must have prior experience obtaining insurance verification, precertification, and authorization via phone and online insurance payer portals
- Medical Collectors must have prior experience updating patient accounts with registration, insurance, demographic, scheduling, and billing data
- Medical Collectors must have prior high volume in person and phone patient customer service experience
- Medical Collectors must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Outlook, payer portals, & electronic medical records (EMR) software
- Medical Collectors must demonstrate ability to type 40+WPM required (alphanumeric & 10-key typing)
