ZS's Cloud Center of Excellence team defines and implements cloud best practices that ensure secure and resilient enterprise grade systems architecture for client facing/delivery software solutions. The Cloud team at ZS is a casual, collaborative, and smart group with offices in Evanston, Illinois and Pune, India, Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Cloud Administrator will be part of the CCoE Team at the Copenhagen office and will focus on supporting and managing IT systems for bioinformatics. As a Cloud Administrator, you will manage both on-premises for multiple environments and AWS infrastructure in multiple regions. You will actively engage in planning, configuration, management, maintenance, and upgrade of various components in the public and private cloud.

What you'll do:

• First-hand knowledge of using Linux systems for bioinformatics or data science.

• Prior practical experience with handling big data sets and complex databases.

• Programming skills in Python and Linux scripting (Bash).

• Hands-on experience with building scientific software from source code and understanding/maintaining dependencies.

• Working on AWS, Azure, GCP or OpenStack platforms on day-to-day work.

• Perform root cause analysis for escalated issues and provide resolution.

• Collaborate with other teams on IT/operations initiatives, including data center, backup, storage, networking, Windows, Linux etc.

• Skilled in writing structured and precise documentation in English.

• Support bioinformatics team and perform root cause analysis for escalated issues and provide resolution.

• Follow established ZS practices for Change Management.

• Ability to travel in case one needs to visit other ZS EU offices.

What you'll bring:

• Education or strong interest with relevant experience in bioinformatics, computer science and natural sciences like biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics.

• At least 2-3 + years of experience with on-prem systems and cloud administration operations.

• In-depth understanding of Windows and Linux operating system administration, including networking, and storage services is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of AWS core and storage services possibly with an AWS certification will be an advantage.

• Knowledge of web technologies will be a plus.

• Proficiency in automation and workflow management systems.

• Foundational understanding of different types of databases and data structures.

• Eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.

• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Self-motivated and directed, with strong attention to detail.

• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
