We are looking for an engineering-focused vehicle technician to support the readiness of our autonomous vehicle fleet. You will perform maintenance, and repairs, and contribute towards the operations of our workshop through documentation and processes. This includes scheduled service, diagnostics, repair coordination, and general depot upkeep.
In this role, you will:
Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on AV vehicles for safe on-road usage.Sync with Shift Lead to ensure all vehicles are in a "ready" state for demonstration and testing requirementsPerform diagnostics and escalate to the appropriate engineering team as requiredCoordinate and drive the repair process, including troubleshooting and failure analysisCreate diagnostic test plans and procedures as the team requiresMaintain vehicle service records and documented quality field reports, as well as maintained shop facilities, ensured tools are in order, and workspace is in excellent working conditionExecute multiple repairs at the same time; working with junior technicians and build an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partnersWant more jobs like this?

Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of hybrid and electric vehiclesAdvanced EV repair & troubleshooting experience Experience using work order documentation systems & diagnostic repair toolsMinimum of 5 years of technician experienceReliable, self-starter, "roll-up-the-sleeves" work ethos and an ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverablesProactive executor focused on quality output in a time-constrained environmentExcellent written and verbal skills, must be honest, responsible, and an outstanding communicating team playerTechnical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in Automotive Repair and clean/excellent driving record
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab (i.e. Dyno, Battery, etc.)Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams, and soldering preferred IT systems experience (software, scripting, networks, security, databases)Robotics experienceAbility to travel locally and nationally (on occasion)
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The hourly range for this position is $48/hr to $79/hr. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
