Zoox is seeking a fleet support engineer on the BaseOps team who will be actively engaged in our fleet's operational uptime. As an expert, your primary responsibilities will include diagnosing complex hardware/software-related issues, interfacing with cross-functional engineering teams to drive resolution, capturing the troubleshooting details and placing them in the internal knowledge database, and generally being available to support the daily technical operations.
In this role, you will:
Point of contact for real-time escalation from technicians of fleet issues Document, amend, and maintain a troubleshooting guide for all technicians to use as faults are diagnosed and resolvedEstablishing diagnostic procedures to expedite troubleshooting in the futureHistorical review of vehicle/fleet data, parsing and interpreting vehicle logs and their physical implicationsWork with engineering design to improve tooling and detection of issues and work to implement effective countermeasures across the fleet Define/capture required data points to validate issue resolution Want more jobs like this?

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehiclesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Automotive EngineeringExperience with low/high voltage circuits, Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS), and how to safely troubleshootUnderstanding of hardware and software systems architecture, and communications to support in an operations setting Embraces a holistic problem-solving approach to identifying issues with high-level vehicle functions and driving specific resolutions into single componentsAbility to comprehend schematics, electrical diagrams, and connector end views/pinout.
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience with electric vehicle technologyExperience with remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting In-depth knowledge of Toyota vehicle systems and diagnostics toolsExperience with Linux & Python-based programming systems for fleet-level data processing Experience with software that interfaces with hardwareFamiliarity with networking, TCP, and socket programming
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $164,000 annually. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
