As the Director of Geometric Integration, you will be responsible for the delivering compatible vehicle concepts and configurations, including design for dimensional control. You will need to be capable of leading the development of the complete vehicle layout from first principles through to series production release considering all quality, regulatory, design and manufacturing constraints.

In this role, you will

  • Define and develop vehicle set up and tactics.
  • Management of Architecture modular commonality strategy, interfaces, and Geometric bandwidths.
  • Leading the vehicle package team in the geometric integration and balancing of the vehicle concepts
  • Responsible for team leading design for dimensional control throughout the product lifecycle
  • Leading Studio Engineering within the Styling Technical Convergence process
  • Responsible for the team providing CAD support, mentoring, and training to the Vehicle Dev teams
  • Responsible for defining complete vehicle prerequisites and boundary conditions for system engineering.
  • Driving and solving complex geometric integration issues during virtual and physical prototype stages
  • Verification and correlation of virtual geometric configurations and kinematics within Physical builds
  • Overall responsibility for the 3D layout of the vehicle via the DMU (Digital Mock-up)
  • Chair applicable cross-functional packaging and layout reviews.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively and demonstrate strong presentation skills at all review levels
  • Competence development of the all the teams within Geometric Integration
  • Identifying and executing processes and strategies to improve team efficiency

    Qualifications

  • Proven team leader with team building, team management, problem solving and communication skills.
  • 15+ years in vehicle engineering in various departments and roles
  • Strong background in complete vehicle configurations and dependences
  • Strong cross functional experience with Studio, Engineering, Suppliers and Quality
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly processes
  • Knowledge of human ergonomics and regulation requirements.
  • Broad understanding of the stepped process flow and requirements in a vehicle development process.
  • Experience in in Product Lifecycle Management adopted in automotive (ex-Jira)
  • Strong knowledge of CATIA V5/V6 and PLM systems
  • Bachelor of Science within Mechanical Engineering or similar

  • Compensation

    There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $286,000 to $360,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
