About the Team

As a key member of the Tax Operations team, the Tax Solutions Senior Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the day to day success of the tax department.

Responsibilities

• Be a self-starter and is self-motivated to learn, able to work independently after guidance, prioritize effectively, and perform multiple tasks under the supervision of tenured members of the team.
• Collaborate closely with internal Tax and Finance stakeholders to understand business use cases, identify improvement opportunities, define requirements and scope, then develop and execute new and existing tax solutions while adhering to committed timelines while providing regular status updates.
• Leverage their innate sense of curiosity to develop a deep understanding of the enterprise billing and tax relevant data to create best in-class solutions through streamlined queries and workflows.
• Create robust solutions to assess risks and provide analytical support to Zoom's Tax subject-matter experts, including but not limited to, assistance with audit support.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of tax processes, system configurations, and automation workflows.
• Partner with technical data and engineering teams to identify, ingest, validate, and transform data from new sources for use in tax reporting.
• Responsible for maintaining data quality and consistency with internal partners through effective reconciliation processes and procedures.
• Author, review, and facilitate alignment on Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) by incorporating stakeholder feedback and ensuring cross-functional buy-in on project scope and deliverables.
• Support requirements gathering and user acceptance testing on behalf of Tax during enterprise systems implementations and cross-functional projects.
• Ensure data security of tax relevant data stored in cloud systems by monitoring role access and partnering with data platform teams to provide recommendations.
• Review, develop, and enhance new and existing tax processes. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and data privacy rules and regulations.

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, providing operational and technical data analytical support within a corporate team or a global consulting firm, with a focus on bridging the gap between technical and business teams in technology solutions and process improvements.
• 2+ year(s) experience with SQL is required, preferably within a finance, accounting, or tax capacity. Experience with Python, VBA, or similar programming languages is a plus.
• Proficiency in Alteryx highly desired, while experience with AI/LLM, RPA, Jira, Confluence, and Tableau are a plus.
• Experience working with data collected from a variety of sources including Excel, flat files, databases, and APIs.
• Experience with interpreting and extracting large volumes of tax and/or transaction data from enterprise systems (Zuora, Avalara, Fonoa, Oracle, Snowflake, etc) is a plus.
• Experience building solutions subject to SOX controls, including interfacing with internal/external auditors and data privacy laws, is a nice-to-have.
• High level of detail-orientation with an eye for accuracy is an absolute must.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, with a demonstrated ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation.
