Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing (C/C++) features to optimize Zoom Mail/Calendar/Scheduler's backend system, using modern C++ 11/14/17 for efficient BigData database management (NoSQL database hbase).
- Ensuring code is performant, scalable, secure, and resource-efficient (optimized for memory and CPU).
- Building and maintaining RESTful APIs, and integrate them with the Apache web server.
- Deploying services to Kubernetes clusters with flexible configuration and robust monitoring.
- Collaborating with DevOps to set up dashboards, metrics, and alerts for production health and troubleshooting.
- Using tools like GFlags, GLogger, GDB, and tcpdump to debug and maintain services.

What we're looking for
- Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field. (Minimum: BS + 6 months of industry experience)
- Have a solid background in C/C++ development with a focus on backend systems.
- Have solid computer science fundamentals (OS, algorithms, data structures, compilers, databases).
- Be comfortable developing in Linux environments.
- Have expertise with HTTP and building REST APIs.
- Have experience with scripting languages (Python, PHP, shell), distributed systems, and DevOps workflows.
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$87 600,00
Maximum:
$186 000,00
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
