Responsibilities

  • Lead a team overseeing a fast pace 24x7x365 operations of Zoom global data center footprint (30+ colocation facilities spanning across North America, APAC, EU, and LATAM)
  • Align with internal teams such as carrier operations, project management, network engineering, system administration, and external vendors to maintain stability and ensure optimum operation of all global data center facilities.
  • Develop and define best practices for data center operation framework, process and policies, data center operating runbook.
  • Align with key internal teams (NOC, Network Engineering, Systems Administration, etc.) to define and develop monitoring tools and escalation procedures.
  • Collaborate with Carrier and Cost Operations Analysts to develop and generate monthly operations performance metrics and KPI for Engineering Operations leaders.
  • Lead QBRs and Annual Reviews to ensure colocation partners are delivering services as promised and performing to Zoom's expectations.
  • Joint effort with the DC Capacity Planner Manager to collaborate with management, business stakeholders and analytic team to develop and drive data center forecast and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with design team and project management team to commissioning for new and retrofitted data centers, and manage decommission of colocation facilities.
  • Act as administrator managing data center access controls and perform the required monthly, quarterly and year-end ZfG and SOX compliance auditing.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with global carriers, colocation providers, and VARs.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with direct reports to provide feedback and assist in addressing concerns and removing roadblocks
  • Mentor, guide and develop career path plans for direct reports
  • Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center equipment and related components, including site and building - maintaining continual improvements.
  • Act as an escalation point and provide support on an as-needed basis to data center related emergencies

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Proven Experience working in a 24x7x365 critical operations environment.
  • Strong Technical experience with particular focus on: compute hardware and operating systems, physical and logical capacity planning, data center cooling and electrical management, asset management, fiber and network technology, data center construction and but not limited to telecom provisioning.
  • 7+ years of data center operations experience, in a large-scale data center environment.
  • 7+ years Experience with Network Deployments and Circuit Provisioning
  • 7+ years Experience with campus and enterprise networks and compute hardware
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding and ability to script using commonly used languages.
  • Experience in conflict resolution management
  • Must be goal-oriented, highly motivated and able to work under minimal direction in a multi-functional environment at detailed levels
  • Experience with low voltage cabling in a Data Center or high-density campus environment.
  • Must have experience managing global carriers to provision and deliver IPT, P-to-P private link, SIP Trunk/MPLS, dark fiber, metro/cross-connect, inter-campus connectivity, etc.
  • Must be a strong communicator and demonstrate ability to interact, influence and communicate at various levels of the organization
  • Effective decision-maker - balance risks and benefits impacting Zoom and its Engineering Operations organization.
  • Fundamental understanding of project management framework, demonstrate working experience in general project management, and ability to elaborate on project lifecycle.
  • Data Certifications would be a PLUS (RCDD, CDCDP, etc.).

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:
$140 400,00

Maximum:
$324 500,00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
