About the role
Our Strategic Sourcing team is looking for a partner focused Strategic Sourcing Manager! In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the business, driving critical elements of the supplier relationship lifecycle including planning, sourcing and negotiation support for complex deals, also owning supplier relationship management. You will be a subject matter authority on our sourcing projects, spend, purchasing, planning, and sourcing related processes supporting our Developer Engineering and Network Engineering enterprise tool base. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Lead sourcing events,(complex and commodity), i.e. RFx's, lead negotiations, facilitate contracting, and manage supplier relationships across your book of business etc.
- Research and identify savings and supplier optimization opportunities within Zillow's current and future services needs
- Be a key point for Sourcing and PFS on our Engineering supplier relationships
- Drive Partner Business reviews monthly/quarterly
- Manage key Sourcing processes and be familiar with SOP creation
- Excelin data-driven communications and recommendations, both internally and with suppliers,
- Cultivate positive relationships across the business and all levels
- Develop and implement standard supplier agreements and relevant amendments, supplier management standard methodologies, and sourcing practices i.e. use "ZG paper" as much as possible
- Lead cross-functional projects and process improvements across multiple partner teams and internally within Sourcing and PFS
- Act as a strategic sourcing advisor by being a knowledgeable and reliable resource to our team members
- Find opportunities to rationalize suppliers and program strategies that deliver effective supplier use while considering risk, overall supplier mix and opportunities to invest in innovative or diverse supplier capabilities
- May educate partners and suppliers on policy and guideline compliance
- May include mentoring junior team members with difficult deals and standard methodologies
- May support business adoption of supplier performance management standard methodologies
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $88,200.00 - $140,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
The ideal candidate is a detailed, creative person with a consistent record of ownership of technology supplier and financial portfolios with the following skills:
- A minimum of five years of experience consistently supporting complex deals with technology and services suppliers, sourcing events, handling vendors and budgets, and leading projects, preferably within large tech organizations. Technology and sophisticated services category management experience is a plus
- Strong negotiation skills with large and sophisticated suppliers, with the ability to adapt and improvise through ambiguity
- Leads Team members to develop outstanding relationships with suppliers and a strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Superb communication and writing skills - able to adapt style to best suit the audience
- Strong Excel and analytical skills to help drive data based decisioning and reporting
- Experience presenting to executive level leadership
- Ability to identify risks and connect the dots across multiple functions including finance, legal, contracts management and a wide variety of technology teams
- Ability to correlate both technical and business requirements from internal partners
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment without losing focus on the details
- A bias for action and courage when solving problems
