About the role

Zillow is seeking a Sr. Risk Analyst - Insurance to play an integral role in mitigating organizational risks, driving operational efficiencies, and promoting risk management and insurance industry best practices while monitoring compliance with company policies. You will support the Risk Management team responsible for administration of the insurance & claims, operational risk and health & safety programs.

You will get to:

  • Serve as the primary contact for employees and adjusters on a variety of claims across multiple lines of coverage, including Workers' Compensation, Auto Liability, General Liability, Property, E&O, Employment Practices Liability
  • Manage claims data collection and respond to requests for insurance and claim information
  • Track and update claims in the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) database
  • Triage incident reports and assist with claim investigations
  • Compile underwriting information and assist with annual insurance renewals
  • Review policy language and assist with coverage analysis requests
  • Review service and vendor contracts and advise on insurance requirements and any risk-related matters
  • Ensure timely compliance with carrier and regulatory reporting obligations
  • Request, evaluate and process certificates of insurance and escalate for appropriate action
  • Review and process insurance and risk billings and correspondence
  • Support loss control, safety and operational risk mitigation efforts
  • Track progress of initiatives and projects that support team goals and objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support cross-functional projects and team initiatives

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $88,200.00 - $140,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of insurance claims handling experience
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive, productive business relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of risk management or insurance industry experience

Preferred

  • 5+ years of insurance program administration/claims handling experience across multiple lines of coverage working for an insurance company or risk management/legal department
  • Experience working with a Risk Management Information System (RMIS) or equivalent claims management system
  • Insurance adjuster license, professional designation (AIC, CPCU or AINS) or alternative risk transfer/captive experience
