About the role

This role sits in our Rentals Marketplace & Ad Products Team which focuses on growing listing inventory. We are looking for a highly motivated Product Manager to lead Pricing for all of our advertising products. This high-impact role will be central to one of Zillow's key initiatives for growth in the near term.

A successful candidate for this role has strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving abilities, a passion for working cross-functionally, and strong written and verbal communication skills. They will need to develop significant knowledge about our ad products and our pricing strategy, understand our business, and work hand in hand with our sales and data science teams to succeed.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive pricing strategy for the Rentals Ad Product Suite to boost listing growth and monetization for both new and existing customers.
  • Identify, pilot, and implement strategic pricing updates based on market insights to enable business growth.
  • Work closely with collaborators from sales, operations, marketing, and other product teams to identify and approve promotional opportunities to boost sales velocity.
  • Understand each product's value proposition, identify underperforming products in specific regions, and take appropriate action to improve market penetration.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales Ops, and Data Science to ensure consistent return on advertising spend for partners purchasing Rental Ad Products to drive retention and increase customer lifetime value.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Finance, and Data Engineering to automate pricing updates at a market level.
  • Partner with Sales Ops to develop and launch a renewal strategy across all sales channels
  • Effectively communicate Ad Product pricing strategy, insights, and relevant updates to product leadership and other collaborators.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $123,200.00 - $196,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Sharp analytical approach with modeling skills that enable you to make timely, data-driven analyses and recommendations
  • 3+ years of experience evaluating the efficiency of marketplaces and managing pricing strategies while bringing to bear product and market insights
  • Highly skilled and excellent interpersonal skills: You will lead initiatives and communicate with varying degrees of product and technical proficiency. A successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with everyone from a non-technical business owner to a back-end engineer
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and diverse perspectives to draw insightful conclusions and recommendations that drive impact for internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects to achieve success.
  • Outstanding technical skills in Excel, SQL (preferred)
  • Experience working with data science and/or data analytics teams is preferred
  • Degree or equivalent experience in business administration, economics, data analytics, or a related field preferred
  • Past experience working in marketplaces preferred
  • Past experience driving pricing strategy for enterprise products preferred
